Rebuild of a 1jz-gte

This is a pretty open and random question, but please answer to the best of ure ability. And if u hav no idea, then keep quiet please

Im lookin at rebuilding a 1jz-gte long block and then adding the manifold, turbos, etc. Now obviously i wud like to know where to begin. Say i hav the block infront of me and my goal is to rebuild this to handle high performance figures.

What needs replacing?

What can i do myself?

Where shud i begin?

How do you define high performance? This will help people to help you.

The rebuild manual from Toyota will give FULL info on rebuilding it.

well high performance wud perhapz mean 300kw at the wheels and then increasing, i want to strengthen the whole insides of the engine so when it comes ot adding horseys, i dont have to worry bout the internals.

Toyota sell rebuild manuals with all the info you need. There's a few guys on the Australian Lexus Soarer site pulling about 300rwkw on standard internals. They are tough as shit standard.
