elsewhere on here iv listed all the rods in late 4age. there are 3 types of rods found in late 4ages (not counting blacktops)
4age use the same rods as 4agzes of the same year. so if you have a 92 4age and a 93 4agze the rods can be different.
be assured that 20v rods are also used in 4agzes
so AGAIN:
if you have a silvertop 20v YOU ONLY NEED TO CHANGE THE PISTONS.
if you have a non tvis redtop YOU ONLY NEED TO CHANGE THE PISTONS
the cranks are the same in all 4age/ze versions from partway through 91 on this includes blacktop.

for the 4agze (remember that the one in aw11s is different again) there are 2 types of rod. the earlier one supersedes to the late one (as it does with 4age)
heres what i posted earlier:ok here it is a detailed history on 4age conrods:

ae92 red top 8705-9102 13201-19095 ss to 13201-19096
ae92 red top 9102-9106 13201-19125 ss to 13201-19126
ae 92 4agze 8705-9102 13201-19095 ss to 13201-19096
ae92 4agze 9102-9106 13201-19125 ss to 13201-19126
ae101 4age 9106-9110 13201-19125 ss to 13201-19126
ae101 4age 9110-9505 13201-19126 no supersession
ae101 4agze 9106-9110 13201-19125 ss to 13201-19126
ae101 4agze 9110-9505 13201-19126 no supersession

as you can see the rods fron non tvis redtops onwards all supersede to the same rod which is used in all versions of the 4age not including the blacktop.

Hmm, I see.

So if we rule out early AE92 (tvis redtop pre 91) rods, as different animal anyway...

So are these part numbers if someone was to order new from Toyota?
Meaning the 13201-19125 is no longer available? Only the -19126...

With every non-tvis redtop N/A & ZE rod weve seen being the same, but different to 20v rods.

Is this difference between -19125 & -19126?

Ok...

So that means the early 9106-9110 silvertop 20v used 'beefy' style ZE rods & then 9110-9505 silvertop 20v went to 'lighter duty' superceding rods(which we have found in all 20v silvertops we have disassembled) ?

Confusing I guess..

And, therefore only the 'lighter duty' superceding rods are available new now?

So, if someone was to look into building a strong bottom end, then they would be best to track down 'beefy' rods from a nontvis redtop N/A or ZE or one of these 'early' silvertops that still use 'beefy' rods? (how hard would early silvertop be to find in NZ if only made for 4 months i wonder?)

Hmm....

well remember that they used those later rods in the zes as well. i really wouldnt worry about it. ok if your gunna build a full on race motor with mega boost then maybe so but i think ud be safe using the later rods. its not as thought rod failure is common in them.
it may be that the later ones will be better being lighter.

Ok..

So this would mean they only used 'beefy' rods in nontvis ZE for a span of 8 months(9102-9106 & 9106-9110), but yet in all ZE's have seen.
Only thing Im just curious about is, have never found any of these late 'lighter duty' rods in any ZE pulled apart, and have definitely dealt with 'later' ZE's(9110-9505).

The difference between these two are quite substantial...

Sure though, the 'lighter duty' rods found in silvertops should be fine for normal turbo applications. Even early bluetop rods hold up fine.

got me :?
iv had a good look there are no other numbers listed either as available or superceded.
and those later rods are listed as standard in both engines, id be keen to check specific engines with model codes etc.
how substantial are the differences? enough to effect strength? bearing in mind a lot of rods can be lightned quite a bit before reliability is compromised.
iv said it before and ill say it again..... damn those sneaky japs!

ok this is my take on it (hopefully doesnt muddy the waters any more!) from talking to a few people - the ae92/aw11 gze rods are the ones to have for high boost, listed as 13201-19095/19096 on your chart, these are the 'beefy' rods. the others seem to be the later 4AGE bottom end, which give trouble over 18-20+psi (as tukumi has found out, bent two of them from a late ae101 gze).

hope that helps.

Hmm... this is where it gets tricky I guess

AW11 ZE rods are similar to nontvis N/A & ZE rods in the respect they share a similar 'beefy' neck profile, 20mm floating pin end & 42mm big end. But the later (non-tvis) run larger big end studs and hence more material around the big end cap assembly.... Up to the engine builder...

Both fantastic rods tho...
