Shaky Celica

Hey all

I've got a 1990 (ST183) Celica and last thursday I had the left hand side CV boot replaced. Ever since then I've notice that it starts kinda shaking. As in it feels like the left wheel is wobbling or only the left hand side is going over some bumpy road. The steering wheel doesn't move and it only happens every once in a while (mainly when Im on the moterway) I took it back to the place this morning and they thought the wheels might be out so they did a wheel balance and the left wheel was only 5g out?! And on the way home tonight it still did it :/

So if you have any ideas that could be causing this, it would be greatly appreciated so I can get it fixed

Note: I also got a wheel alignment done about a month ago

also check that one of ur tyres doesn't have a flat spot or a bulge as this will unbalance car...and no wheel alignment will fix it

i say go and find someone you know whose a mechanic to have a look at it, check the tyre and the wheel nuts.

My dad has already checked the wheel nuts and they are all tight.

If i need another wheel alignement I shouldn't have to pay for it should I, since its only happened since they changed the CV boot?

go back to where the job was done and tell them your problem. the should at the very least inspect it free of charge and if what they have done is at fault then they should remedy it free of charge

Big nut on the outer CV not done up properly perhaps?

Take it back. Its their problem, they 'caused' the issue.

If youve had the CV joint worked on, & it didnt shake before hand, chances are pretty high its directly related.
I had a bad vibration in mine after changing a CV boot, I had to remove the drive axle again to sort it out.
Have them take a thorough look at it.
If thats the problem dont expect them to charge you for it!
