rising rate fuel regulators

just thinking about using one for my EX turbo, i understand the basics of how they work but was wondering if they needed to be adjusted, ie: the spring that closes off the valve is operated by a vacuum line, can you tension the spring differently so that the fuel pressure starts rising at higher or lower levels???

With Rising rate regulators most of them have a fixed rising rate, Malapassi regulator are usually either 1:1 or 1.7:1. The adjustment is basically spring tension/preload to adjust the idle fuel pressure & it's best adjusted/set to suit the car, but usually round 38-42psi at idle will work best. Various other manufcature make variable rate regulators or higher rate regulator like 4:1 etc. It would be best to check air/fuel ratios & see if you actually need any more fuel before buying one as any enrichemnt on the fueling side is going to a coarse adjustment.
