No.

Of the RS200s, only the Z-edition and L-edition 6-speed manual models have the LSD as standard, and it's available as an option on the autos.

However, on the slower AS200s, it is standard on all manual models, as far as I know (not just Zs and Ls). It's not available on the auto AS200s.

Technically, the L-edition, but firstly, I've never seen one, and secondly, most of the L-edition "extras" are available on the Z-editions.

From an engine/suspension/drivetrain perspective, they're the same as far as I know, and the way to pick one from the other is seat material - leather=L edition, regular black fabric=Z edition. The L-edition also has a powered front seat. :p

If you want more information have a read of:
http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars/to ... a/main.htm

and in particular, the RS200 equipment list at:
http://www.japanvehicles.com/newcars/to ... pRS200.htm

Makes it easy to spot Z-editions as well. :-p (because most people don't even know they have a Z-edition!)

What do you mean, AXNGRL?

The 215hp Z and L edition RS200s have both the Torsion LSD and Traction Control as standard on the manuals. Both of them are options on the autos.

You might be thinking of the 153hp AS200s, where on the manual the LSD was standard, but TRC optional, and on the auto there's no LSD, but TRC is still an option.

I think they're roughly equivalent to an L-edition AS200 (note, not RS200), but I could be wrong.

In fact, I could be wrong on all of this. :-] (standard disclaimer)

my partner (squid off Lexus Owners Club) has a 6spd manual altezza & it certainly does not have an lsd. We were told that it was either one or the other on those cars.

Perhaps it was different for the 98 Altezzas to 99 and on then? If you check around, there is certainly lots of places having reference to the Altezzas having LSD as well as traction control.

Hah - even the Altezza experts are arguing about this now - hah!

Have a read on:

for a discussion on the LSDs... :-]

I translated the Toyota Japan spec sheet back in 2000 and the RS200Z 6 speed definitely listed a Torsen LSD as standard, it was an option in the auto, as was TRC. Don't know about the L. I never actually verified the physical presense of an LSD on my RS200Z before I sold it, but my AS300 Gita definitely has one .

AS200 : No LSD and TCS was option

AS200 Z ed : same as AS200

RS200 : both LSD and TCS standard

RS200 Z : same as RS200

If you dont have a real lsd (read: Helical or clutch pack) it wont spin the wheels the same way if you jack it up and spin them.

That site simplifies it as the options were different on manuals versus autos. I presume it is referring to the manual versions.
