just follow the instructions in mrozio's signature.

So first you modify the exhaust and intake and you raise the boost pressure. Then you adjust fuel settings and raise the boost pressure. And this goes on and on and on. Until the car is dead

I was hoping for some more helpful suggestions....

rather than generic "get nos" or "raise the boost"

how about some detail on how / where the best places to get nos are?

exhaust suggestions?

raising the boost? cautionary things etc?

Yer, get it moved to tech questions. Inane, not trying to be sad or anything, but have you tried using the search function? Search for caldina, 3sgte etc ... your question has been asked and answered heaps of times before :?

apologies to all,

I'll shift it and do a search,

I impulsively posted here during a brief 30 seconds of free time at work,

where I don't really have the time to browse through much...

Moved. :)

Don't forget to relocate that top-mounted interwarmer to the front (or get a bigger / better flowing unit installed front-mounted) after the exhaust / intake etc.

Also, boost will raise after a new intake and exhaust free up the flow. I've seen some nasty spikes in 3SGTE's, may want to invest in a bling boost controller in the near future also.

Yes, 3SGTE pistons aren't very tolerant of detonation...but then again what pistons are?
Big front mount, exhaust and intake, and either a FCD or full aftermarket ECU and boost controller. Ought to put a smile on your face, but will probably melt your clutch

And a big hole in your wallet from the impending self destruction of the engine

My recommendation would be to start with the ECU (preferably Motec) first, add water injection, then a big FMIC and better Turbo.

Whatever you do, don't turn up the boost on the stock ECU and expect the motor to last 8O

Inane, have a look at the thread that Farmer Dave created about his Caldina and the engine problems he had. Lots of very, very good info in there, and plenty of things to watch out for.

Definitely a must-read for Caldina owners from both a modding and maintenance point of view.

Ya miss that bit? I am well aware of the effects of too much boost on stock ECU  Somehow my first engine boosted over the fuelcut :?
Motec is a bit over the top isn't it? LinkPlus works fine for me so far (Not that I'm making much power)

Yep, but the car in question is a Caldina GT-T which would appear to be a lot easier to pop than an early MR2. I would also suggest an ECU upgrade first, preferably a MoTeC because it is guaranteed to interface with the stock sensors; I'd be very surprised if any other brand of ECU will read the stock GT-T crank angle sensor. Does your LinkPlus work with the stock sensors and distributor (without butchering it)?

Ah, I think we had to change a resistor to do with the distributor somewhere (forget exactly what sorry) but everything else was fine.
Oh, of course...forgot the later ones are a bit trickier....I'm sure there'd be something more cost effective than a Motec though surely
