Wheel size

Postby GT4 20 » Mon Jun 14, 2004 11:49 am

Hoping to pick up my new car sometime this week - a '96 Celica. I'm not too keen on the (16") wheels it has so will be looking at changing those pretty quickly.
My question will 15" rims fit and what is the PCD / Offset?
Cheers

Hi :)

Here's some info on the 6th gen st202:

Bolt Pattern: 5x100
Centre Bore: 54.06mm
Lug-nut: 12x1.5
Offset: 38 stock (Recommended Range 35-43)

Standard Wheel/Type size: 205/55R15 15/7.0

The SSII came standard with 15inch wheels, so you'll have no probs fitting them. Just a bit of advice, drive the celica for a couple of weeks first - with 16s (and no suspension mods) they're still a comfortable ride.

BTW the ST205 GTFOUR which shares the same body as the SSII was designed to run on 16s as standards, so they could use bigger brakes, and run 18 inch wheels on tarmac events. In the US the basic domestic model came with 185/70R14 14/6.0. So you've got a good range of sizes (14-18 inch) to choose from :)

Hey nobody
Thanks for that. Main reason is also down to tyre choice. It's pretty limited in 16" size (both tyres and mags) compared to 15 or 17. A fair bit of $ goes into the race car so don't really want to pour too much into expensive tyres etc - 15s are obviously much cheaper
If push came to shove, I'd rather have 17s than 16s - depends on what sort of deal I can find while I'm shopping around. Got a few quotes today which looked good on the 17" front. I'm a fussy bugger so finding a good looking wheel I like is half the battle

wheels

Postby THA SHZ » Tue Jun 15, 2004 10:30 am

Hey howsit goin . Just a little heads up for that wheel you have there.
There is a 15 inch replica of that wheel thats not cast alloy and it doesn't fit ur celica. If you wanted that in a 16 or 17 it is available ex japan and its VERY pricey , im talking about $1200 per wheel maybe more ( just a rough estimate ) and thats not including tyres .
Racing hart is very expensive unfortunately :D
