And from working on cars. I helped pull apart and re-build my brother's Triumph Herald. When I ended up with that car, I got very good at removing the gearbox from it. And I nutted out how manual gear boxes worked from staring at the diagram in the Haynes' book.

The funny thing is, since I've stopped driving classic cars around, how little I look under the bonnet...

definately supercheap autos... bout half the price that repco will charge... I think there's one in Masterton if not in Wellington

I paid $70 at repco... at one stage Supercheap was selling them for ~ $35

alternatively the library might have one

haha, yea my g/f works at repco and they have a good staff discount get manuals for like $25. Repco has the most nasty markup on shit well over 100% on parts.

its always a good thing having an old man that knows a bit, you gotta start with the basics, learn how a 4-stroke engine works and you will see everything makes sense eventually, www.howstuffworks.com always good, watching other people, learning the basics is the biggest thing, cause then the rest can come, i have a mean book i aquired from somewhere that tells you how to do more basic stuff to your car easily
