Hes joking about the solid centre plate...that would literally be very very brutal. Even my TRD 3 puck brass clutch is sprung

just buy a trd clutch

I wont quote the exact price but its slightly over $1000 for the trd cover and the trd 3 puck plate.

Labour...prolly 6-7 hours for a mech to drop the motor and then put it back in with new clutch.

BTW you will need to regas your a/c, and you may as well do a coolant change, the clutch fluid will need to be changed also...and with the motor on the floor why not do the cambelt, tensioner, new a/c and alternator belts, replace the hose from hell, change the waterpump...

Its an engine out job....so these things are wise to be done. You dont wanna have something fail on you in 3 months time and for you to have to pay for the motor to come out again...

DAMN....$$$$ but a good clutch I guess. As I mentioned further up though all up I got mine for less than $1000 ALL INCLUSIVE!! They didn't drop my engine out, they didn't stuff my AC (Or charge me anything to do with that) but yeah....cambelt etc is good to get done. Wang...ring Plimmerton motors and speak to Ian or Hop and ask them if they can remember the details of the one they put in Andy Wrenn's MR2 a year or two back...they will remember and can probably find out more about it. It was good....HARD, not good for bumper to bumper traffic but great for hard launching and quick gear changes :)

Yeah I think you will find if you want cambelt and clutch changed its easier to just drop the motor. Cos the engine basically has to be dropped at each end on the opposite mounts to get to the gearbox/cambelt cover.
