Motec infos and prices... where ?

Postby Wolf_Tm250 » Thu Jun 17, 2004 9:49 pm

Hi M8s,

I asked Fensport the price of the M4pro Motec they use on their cars, complete with DIY instruction, every loom and sensor needed to install it on my 3rd gen 3SGTE.

I'd like to buy it from them because they have many many base maps to suit every modded 3sgte, so they can send it to me with a base map that runs with my 850 injs...

but it's a very very expensive buy !

Is there in NZ or OZ anyone that sells Motec ecu at lowest prices, and could even supply me base map for my injectors ?

Thank you, bye

There are plenty of places in Aus or NZ that sell at far lower prices than Europe or USA, but they're not really allowed to sell outside the country.

Motec Europe or Motec USA won't provide support to grey market imports and if you ask Motec Australia for support and they find out you're in Europe or the US they will tell you to contact your local Motec branch, who will either charge you a fortune or more likely refuse to support your ECU.

The only way you can get support is through the agent that you bought it from and not many of them will do this for foreign customers. You really need to get someone local to purchase the ECU and relay any support queries. Good news is that Motec needs very little support and failures are rare, but you'll need to find someone who is prepared to act as a middle man ;)

Depending on which ECU you want, base maps shouldn't be a problem, changing injector size in a Motec is a simple job that takes about 1 minute so any 3S-GTE with the same mods should be ok. However it would only be a map to get you started, not one that you can drive hard on, you would still need to get it tuned for your engine.

Unfortunately,
the Italian Motec agent prefers to sell other ecu's brands, like TDD or EFI ...

How much will I pay from "The Middle Man"   for an M4 PRO, with all the looms needed for the installation and for PC tuning, new GOOD 3 bar MAP sensor, ability to control the boost ( so I need a solenoid valve - Fensport uses stock TurboVSV with ext.WG ), my water injection system ( I have an Aquamist 2s ) and to receive my wide band O2 signal ( I have a Tech edge kit ) ?

Thank you !!!

Ciao ciao

Fivebob.....have a friend in the UK that wants a M4 version, I told him what you said above regarding support but he isn't fussed, if he can get it at a good price then he want's one. It's for a JDM Type III........maybe you could add a bit extra $$ on top for your time etc if you have time to help?? IF you have time to do it I can give you his e-mail etc and you can probably deal with him direct?? Just PM me if you want.

Cheers
