hey i have a levin bzg and i hav now noticed from 1st to 2nd at high revs it will make a not so good grinding sound! i thought i would b the synro mesh? but took 2 toyoto and they changed the gearbox oil and sed na it wouldnt b that waz there waz no brass bits in the oil they took out, they sed thats jstt he way it is, but surly it shloudnt b like this as 4 it not 2 gring at high revs u goota change it like a granny!!! ne1 got ne ideas on wot it is? and how it can b fixed with not speanding heapsa money!!

there iz not much uz cna do really apart sinz u got tha fluid chngd an t made no diff.

Get tha gearbox reconditioned or get a new gearbox :wink:

I know if i do what you describe, and dont have the clutch FULLY in, it will crunch, otherwise theres no issues, check you are putting the clutch fully in, thats the only time I have a problem.

yeah its only gonna get worse.mine started like that and it progresses til u cant get into most gears under any good load.just change earlier in 1st u might find it will go in a bit better.start saving for new gbox :cry:
doesnt seem too bad , mine took over 12 months to get real bad from that graunching one gear stage.

It's pretty common for this to happen, more than likely ull get it from 2nd to 3rd soon too. Im surprised they said it's not the synchros, cause I'd have thought it would definately be them, but ye, you're lookin at a new box or recon yours (hella expensive) to fix the problem. Not the cheapest things on the planet :/

sounds like the clutch master cylinder is worn ie its not pushing the clutch in far enuff try pumping the pedal between gear changes
