Under the bonnet? Do you drive an MR2? :D

And fat women are like Mopeds. Fun to ride, but you wouldn't want your friends to see you on one!

they arent going to be the specified height straight away....

i remember having it explained to me that they are progressive, so it takes a certain amount of time to reach the correct level

or progressive could mean, the greater the force applied the greater the resistance?

or Dream Theatre? :D

I don't think they would have used progressive to describe a gradual settling.

Jamex don't make 'super lows' - thats a branding that Kings use. I've always found Jamex springs to be very good (low, even and good handling). A few people have Jamex springs - check the profiles to see how it should sit.

Yeah i felt the same with my jamexs. It does lower them quite nicely in the front but in the back i wasnt happy. ive had about 4 coils cut off the back overall and this week getting the fronts compressed more. But yeah i know how ya feel. Why did you get Jamexs anyway? Only reason I got them was because they were the only spring i could find for Super Strut that claimed 40-45mm

i went for the jamex because they claimed a 40 to 45mm drop and thats the same as kings superlows and frm wot i can gather frm ppls opions that jamex were better than kings, ive emailed keith at jamex and he is going to look into seeing if he can get some that will go lower in the back for me!

yer i thought they took a bit of time to settle in, they will go lower if u have lowering shocks to accompany them, im looking at getting jamex springs as they r reccomended over kings, and kings dont stay captive either so ive heard ...

that will teach you for wanting to sit it on its ass, as far as i have have found out its the super strut that wont let it drop far every spring i looked at when i lowered my ae111 were only 35mm just because they say it will drop 45mm doesnt mean it will. Most people i have spoken to about springs all recomend lovells.

Umm... without stating the obvious what is really more important the static height the car sits at or the quality of the ride?

Handling in it's simplist form = spring effectively absorbing the chassis movement, shock absorber effectively controlling the spring......

Lowering past 30~40mm on standard spec shocks usually reduces the total travel of suspension to less than is required meaning constantly bottoming out the shock, this will kill any shock in a super short time :? , hence why Kings Super Lows are so often frowned upon as ineffective.

Cutting coils off springs, this has the same effect as increasing the springrate drastically, so where originally you had a set of springs with a springrate that was designed for a particular application you now have (probably) much harder springrates in the back then the front, hello serious oversteer :?

Also, front/rear height plays a big part in the weight distribution of the chassis, by having the rear slightly higher (have you ever noticed that virtually all factory sports type versions of cars have this trait over their lesser bread and butter models 8) ) it helps effectively shift weight distribution during cornering and braking.

So to sum it up, really if you want an in the weeds look fork out for a fully adjustable set-up that is designed to go low and handle otherwise put up with a set-up that some very smart engineers designed to improve on the factory set-up. Jamex aren't to blame here, ignorance is

well jamex is too blame as they mislead me by saying i would get a 40 to 45mm drop when a clearly didnt! iof they stated the tru drop i never would have brought them!

Just did a search and found this review which pretty much re-enforces what people have said here :)
