If you are putting it into a MR2 you will need an MR2 box as the cables mount on the other side of the box, you can get longer cables made up but it is never the same! Hope this helps.

Someone correct me if im wrong but dont all "A" series engines have the same bell housing so any 4age mr2 gearbox will suit the 3a engine?????

yes, JasonZE, that's exactly right, any aw11 4age gearbox should bolt up with no problems.

True, I did not know that! I was told that they were different but if you can swap them then all good.

I don't know if the 4A flywheel fits on the 3A crank, so you may need to get a 3A flywheel and clutch cover, but you will need the clutch disk to suit the gearbox input shaft (so whatever disk is recommended for the engine the gearbox came from).
BTW you're from the MR2 board yes? I think I've seen you in the MK1.5 forum, I'm Driftin_AW (man I want another aw11...)

4AGE flywheel will not fit, thats for sure (too many bolt holes). I'm pretty sure you'll need a 4age clutch for that gearbox, which should fit the 3a fine.

Thanks for clearing that up. I would recommend getting the 3A clutch cover (pressure plate), because you know it will fit the 3A flywheel, then get the 4age clutch disk
