can measure for you 2night. why dont you just buy an st205 one. Is metal, and identical to trd one. same part #. Only cost about $80 or less. Or are you O-ringing it, hence the copper...?

Don't O-Ring your block or use a copper gasket unless you want it to blow, the Alloy head & cast iron block move too much in relation to each other and the copper gasket will work harden and leak.

Use the stock gasket it's good enough for 30+psi and doesn't require any block/head mods like O-Rings. Far cheaper in the long run.

ta all, was hoping for your input bob of five, umm there was damage to the head so had been planed 15 thou, so was going to do the copper thing to make up the difference, but then learned of the need to o ring, was going to machine o ring relief in both the head and the block, but was still concerned aboot work hardening, (and the cost)
am happy to live with the extra compression, as the new pistions should take care of that. the only thing would be cam timing, (unless I use a shim) pros n cons anyone?

.015" = 0.38mm not going to effect your cam timing enough to worry about, by my rough calculations < 0.8° advance, and at some point in time you'll probably want to go to adjustable cam sprockets and aftermarket cams anyway.

Blitz & HK$ make 1.6mm headgaskets not exactly cheap @ 18,000 & 27,000 Yen respectively. TTE used to make them in 1.0,1.2 & 1.4mm but they may no longer be available

With the stock pistons & gaskets that will give you an CR of 9.1, with your pistons I don't know but figure on an increase of approx 0.1. A 1.6mm gasket (assuming 1.0mm stock) would give you approx 0.05 decrease.

got wiseco pistons, haven't got the numbers on me, but there is a drop in compression which I don't really want. Eagle rods should be here this week, but then there's the three week wait on the oil pump from japan.

How come the compression drop? You can get 9:1 comp ratio forged pisons can you not? Are these pistons maybe from an earlier generation 3sgte? If you could let me knwo the part no's that would be good :-)

thanks\

Judging from the last photo the piston top to pin is the same height, so they will be lower CR, what's the depth and diameter of the dish? I can work out an approx CR from that if you don't already know it.

Even allowing for the valve pockets on the std piston that's about 7.8:1, so with your planed head I'd estimate 8:1, should be able to run megaboost.

Code for the pics is the [img] tag, it's just that you need to know the name of the image, not the webpage which is what you posted. To find the name of the image right click on it and select properties (if you're using IE)
