Bro, use a Plastic primer on every bit of plastic you paint. then spray with normal spray paint, then give it to coats of clear coat once all finished!
It comes up mint. I done my whole interior like than and nothing has come off!
plastic primer is about $19.95 per can (get from painters)
then ya spray paint and clear coat

light sand with very fine grit sand paper proably wet & dry (Tufbak), or u could use meths to clean it, it melts the plastic slightly so sanding isn't really needed (need to clean it if its had interior silcon cleaner over it b4)

yeah actually that plastic primer would help a lot.... I just sanded mine and used regular primer

remember though that the texture of the surface will show through wether it's rippled or scratched from the sandpaper

I wouldnt recommend doing it cause it's less durable than having it left unpainted

If you sand it use fine grade wet n dry likd 600 or 800 grit, all done well it wont show through on your final finish. Def get the plastic primer to- its a lot better than regular stuff for plastics.

I got some vinya paint afew years back that worked like a dye, was really good. However that was on an older car vinyl which was softer than the more plastic stuff now. If you were going to do the whole dash it could pay to ring around some dash restoration/building places as some have good prices to change colour.

hmm ive been told me interior is pretty good and I like it , but everyone has thier opinions.

Mine hasnt started flaking off and neither has anyone elses I know thats done the same thing.

I didnt even prime the surface , jst cleaned it thoroughly. I used VHT interior paint and it came up sweet. Its a good quality enamel and I didnt need to use a clear coat at all.

Vinal Paint, you can get a good brand from your local car painters, but definatly clean the area with hot soapy first. Let it dry, then apply a couple of coats of Plastic primer! Then apply the vinal paint, use a proper airgun for this.

I recomend not sanding any plastic bits, just plastic primer them, it works just as well!

ud probably wanna go get some wax and grease remover and wash whatever ur gonna paint with that to get rid of the crap u put on to keep it shiney (that should stop fish eye)

then i would keep sanding to 600 or even 400 for primer, u want it to stick then use 600-800 to sand the primer ready for the top coats

I sanded with hell fine sandpaper as to get rip of the textured look thats on most the plastic pieces. Then use a plastic primer. Mine came out mint and have had no probs. :)

If you go to your local spray paint supply store (automotive), they should have a 3 piece kit that works great. The primer, colour of your choice, and a clear laquer.

Spray store in Chch have them.

Your best off to retrim the fabric bro. Take yah doors off, rip the old farbric off (carefully) as you want to use that as the outline for your new fabric. Place the old trim on your new fabric and cut out the same shape. The best glue i found was ados spraycan glue, works a dream. I did the trim in 1/2s. So spray one side of the trim you are doing and lay that down and smooth it out, then spray the other half and smoothen it out.
If thats wot yah meaning i think ya would be way better off doing new trim and its pretty easy.
