people in the know help me out i purchased wat i thought was a ae86 lsd diff only to find out it is lacking the lsd!!!!! so here's my question will a slippery head replace the shitter? are the splines on the shaft's the same? anyone with knowledge on this subject please click the reply button if your gonna take a guess and make it up please click the $&#$% off button you will find this button at the top left of your screen translated as back!! any help will be appreciated

there is no difference in the shafts for the lsd models. UNLESS it has drum brakes. (yes they do list a lsd drum brake model!)

but there are early and late axles, change in 8510 so just make sure you get a head from the same year as the shafts

Only this you may find is the axles in an open diff are 6mm longer then LSD axles. No biggy as they can be cut with ease.
I also have a couple of LSD's for sale if you are interested PM me.

ye was gonna say im looking at doing the same thing shortly and found that the axels can be different lengths didnt realise taht different years had different splines thou, what are the differences number and size of ???

oops correction: there ARE different axles for the lsd centres.
i accendentally looked up one without lsd :oops:

the different length thing is common with toyotas.

i cant recall off hand what the spline count is for the different years, but i think its 20 vs 22. but DONT quote me on that! :wink:
all im sure of is that there IS a difference and you cant swop them around
