Postby gtz666 » Wed Jul 14, 2004 7:27 pm

hey my ae92 gtz afm is being really wierd 1/4 throttle it's sweet then you put your foot down and it misfires or something (coughs and farts) then it comes right and takes off then sometimes it bogs down it happens at any rpm normal temp etc doesn't happen all the time but seems to happen more often now......ideas :?

This is a stupid question, but its solved this prob on a car of mine before. You made sure ur air filter is sweet and completely intact (if uve got a pod make sure its still attached to the metal, yes, they come apart and cause this lol) and that there's nothing limiting the supply of clean air to the engine? Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think there's vac tubes to worry about on the intake side of an AFM GZE? In which case its likely to be the AFM, which are a semi common thing to go bung

Sounds like an ignition problem. Check the plugs and leads, and clean out the distributor cap and rotor.

mates turbo silvia did the same thing dude, can be if water has got to the AFM, his was at the panel shop and the silly pricks left it outside with no bonnet, course it rained causeing the problem, aparently you can take the AFM out and spray/soak it in that crc electrical contact cleaner (the real cold stuff that evaporates quick) cleans them out of crap and it ran like new
