Vacuum gauge

Postby cty0691 » Sun Jul 18, 2004 9:36 pm

I have just installed vacuum gauge on AE111 and when I accelerate, the needle goes to 0.
I thought if I accelerate, engine sucks more air so the needle goes up.
How does this vacuum gauge work?

0 = atmospheric pressure = throttle open = no restriction

vacuum = negative pressure = throttle partially closed/open = restriction

The needle will only go as far as 0 (atmospheric) in an NA car. If you got forced induction then you'll get boost past 0.

think its got sumthen todo with the vacuume of the 20v quads as it hits 0 alot quicker than id expect just a tap of the foot and it nails the stopper pin.
