oil return to the sump just wip it off take it to an engeneering place and get them to weld in a return , might cost a bit (not that i can weld properly) but im sure that aloy is harder to work with and has to be tig welded
also i noticed on www.rangimods.co.nz they put the oil return to the dipstick lmfao

yea put it in the top of the sump as oil will gravity feed back. if u return it below the oil line in the sump the oil cannot return properly and most probalbly push out seals of turbo.

i have T'ed the Oil sender for the oil feed. just wanting to know where to stick the oil return line.
i heard go in the dipstick, but im thinking thats not the best idea. Can i just tap it into the sump just below the dipstick hole??

Do as mike has said...

make sure that the oil return is all down hill and atleast a .5" return.. you want as little restriction as possible. ;)

i did mine... twice actually... and the 2nd time with it above the oil line and nice and big, there was no smoke compared to lots of smoke from the turbo when it was out of the turbo and red into the sump below the oil line...

also make sure you have good ventilation - such as an oil breather.. want to geep the pressure in the sump to a minimum to stop the oil blowing out the seals of the turbo 8)

WHat would i construct the oil return line out of??? what would the best material be to use?
the oil will be quite hot so id want something quite durable, yet be able to bend it a bit to get it into the right shape....

HELP....

Mint, Legend!
I just started my engine for the first time today in the supra...had some smoke- I had blocked off one of the main rocker breathers. Sorted it & all good. Stoked it wasnt another set of turbos!Cheers

for the return line: fuel line from repco seems to do the job and is cheap, as long as it is away from any direct heat eg, manifold etc it will b fine, if u can, try extend the the steel return pipe from turbo just a little just to give it that extra distance away from the heat.

some hose will not like the heat from the oil

make sur you get a oil compatable hose that can handle the heat of the oil

i put mu return into the sump in the upper half(not in the sumpy bit) of the sump

im useing the ze block so i have the head oil return vented into a tank keeping crackcase pressure to a min

if really needed i can take a piccy of it for you

well its sussed out now. got a mate to weld n a brass fitting into the sump that we can screw a 10mm ID fitting into, got sum 10mm ID hose from the engneers shop thats resistant to heat, petrol, grease and oil.
will all be clamped on and tested to see if it will work! SHOULD do

also for the oil feed
if anyone has any old receipts from somewhere like GSS, can you please tell me the fitting size that is used to "T" into the oil pressure sender, just makes it easier as im trying to get all my parts together before i actually touch the car.
thanks guys.

1/8 npt (gas) is a standard sensor thread, im pretty sure its what ive used on mine,

as for the oil return line i usually use 5/8 fittings / elbow welded in to the sump, and just use 5/8 id oil resistant and reinforced hose,

then again thats usually when im using mitsi td04 / 5's
other tubos with smaller oil return lines dont need to be as big, as long as you keep it the same size were it comes out of the turbo and were it goes bac to the sump.

yea as everyone sais, I just welded a pipe into my sump as close to the top edge as I could. I used oil line from Kendalls, Blue stuff thats quite thick and very flexiable and hose clamped it on, seems to be fine had no problems at all.

I hate that nasty way of putting the oil feed with a T piece cos then the oil pressure switch hangs off the end of the fitting, whcih in time kept making the fittings crack and leak oil, So I just T pieced into my oil line that runs to my oil cooler.
