Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Wed Aug 04, 2004 5:50 pm

im looking for some advice on what the best diff would be to use in a ke35 with a 4age. don't want to do too much mods to the diff to make it fit if possible, but what something strong enough. anyone got any ideas :?::?:

And this answers his question how?

The best Lsd would probably be a shortened Hilux or hiace diff but they wont be cheap
Probably round 1500 or so id say :D

dunno if this helps, but anyways. My mate had to get a new diff for a ke20, he ended up putting an old corona diff in, it just bolted straight in. i got a 1970 corona with a 4age in it, it's stood up to the thrashing now for a couple of years, not lsd but at least it's cheap.

have a look around a wreckers yard with a tape measure, you may find something with the same track and bolt pattern for quite cheap.
mounts can be welded on no problem
how about a piazza diff? they can come with lsd and are cheap cause the rest of the car is crap

For how much power?? Hilux diff is good for turbo + torque, but for 4age NA, and best handling I would say AE86 disk brake rear end with TRD LSD would be the absolute best. Lower unspring weight.

thanks for the website, i'll check it out.

ApexR, its just a bluetop 4age that im putting in at the moment. not really looking to do any mods to the engine to increase the power at the moment. someone suggested an ae85/6 diff to me, but neither of us are sure how much they are and ive seen them for about $800, and ive seen hilux diffs for under $400.

True, well hilux will be overkill for NA 4age, but at least there are lsd's around for them.
