I saw the tail end disappear down lambton quay and had no idea what was going on. When I saw them all returning past Starbucks, it was plainly obvious that half the protesters(if not more)had no idea what was going on as many of them quite frankly looked like munters/mentally deficient/ignorant hillbillies.

It was like the Wairarapa had come to pay the capital a visit ;)

This country doesn't need these people.

I'd have to say, I think our friend Brian Tamaki might be in it for the money.

Either way I dont believe in it, I believe people should be free to live how they want to live, and marry or not marry whoever they feel the need.

These Destiny Church people need to realise that New Zealand is not like some christian institution, where we can all be taught and forced to behave in a certain way.

I dont have a problem with religion, but I cant stand anyone who tries to force their beliefs on others. Why should the whole country live the way they want to live, just because they are afraid of their children growing up gay?

On another note, has anyone else "shizzolated" their website? go to asksnoop.com.

“Dogg is saying that shiznit is time be a muthas of da Kingdom."

We hope yo' ass are inspired 'n encouraged as yo' ass look through this window into Destiny n' shit. Hannah 'n I take this opportunity personally invite yo' ass come a service

I dont agree with them, BUT they have the right to freedom of speech.

Its like the holocaust denier being dis-allowed entry and then the govt trying to rush through some hate law bill....i mean i dont agree with what he thinks either, but he has his right to express his own opinion, no matter how disgusted you may be of it.

This country is falling down around all of its politically correct bullshit.

Can someone enlighten me about this whole Destiny Church thing? I see it on TV at the gym every morning but without sound.
Looks to me as if they'll need money as they're bordering on copyright infringment having an event called "Too fast, too furious"

Well.... I think Brian has a valid point, either your christian and live your life according to the bible etc, or you aren't. Sorry, but if you live in a sinful manner.... you ain't no christian. (gay, abusive, intolerent, chicken molestering, fart lighting etc...... tongue firmly in cheek here of course  ) I digress.

I've taught children involved with the church, one of them is the son of a pastor (that what they call themselves?). It's my opinion they are a little too money orientated (aren't we all... but we aren't preaching). I think any religion that expects/commands that it's followers attend church every sunday is a little too meke. (I'm fukn tired... forgive my lapses into drivel)

Jethro tull said it best "My god's not the kind you have to wind up on sundays."

But that's just my opinion.

hrmmm, welll, I knoe stuff all aboot the protest, how it went, who said what, etc, but I know kids from a gay parents background and they were all $&#$% up beyond $&#$% up. and then their 'parents' split up, hrmmmm thats yours on mine tax dollars paying for their counciling, dole, medication...... mums and dads have enough grief looking after kids, we will have alot more civil problems if this comes to pass.

I have to agree with 20vtoylevin.

Churchs take donations from people, they don't set fee's. Sounds like the next Wako, Texas incedent. I guess we really are becoming like America...

Mr Tamaki has major issues that he says affect the family, how does it really affect a family? It may not be the way a family was intended but its still a family.

And why weren't ALL those kids in skool, thought christians did everything by the book :D

Geez, everything I feel has been said already!! Yes, they have a right to freedom of speech, but to shut down a whole central city for a "cult" march is a bit too far!

Not everyone believes in Christianity, so why should everyone have this preaching shoved in their face?

I agree with the civil union bill because as far as I'm concerned, everyone has a right to live how they choose to live!

Ghey people are people too, so why can't they have the same rights as hetro couples?

It's really unfair that ghey couples can't be recognised as a "couple" under the law, because when they make that life commitment to each other and then one of them dies, the other has NO rights over their deceased partner.

Tamaki was going on about the civil union bill bringing ghey couples on to the same level as marriage, when it's not! It's just a way to recognise them as life partners!

Marriage is SOOO over-rated these days anyway!! There are plenty of couples out there, ghey or not, chosing to live in defacto relationships just because there isn't much point to marriage!!

They all talk about equal rights and freedom of choice, yet they are discriminating against people who aren't CHRISTIAN!!!

Do you know what I think about old 'million dollar house' pastor Tamaki?
I think he's in DENIAL!! I mean, did you see the ghey shirt he was wearing on Holmes? He is ghey, but doesn't want to admit to it!!

Besides, aren't all pastors in to little boys??
Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected the expected?

Tamaki infuriates me. I want to punch the TV screen when he comes on and spouts his blatant BULLSHIT.

He has no argument. Every answer he gives to any question is structured around the same arguments. The bible apparently says that being gay is a sin.... I still do not recall where in the bible it tells anyone to discriminate based on sexual preferences, race or whatever.

To me a church (or should I say business) such as Destiny has no credibilty, as it is a fundamentalist church and in my eyes not consistent with traditional values held by christianity. It preys on peoples anxiousness, their fears and I think it is from these fears it manages to function as what it's members blindl percieve as a "credible" church/religion.

Bollocks I say.

Knowing me......... probably not

Tell you what.... I'm starting a new religion, you kick me 20% of your pay, I'll tell you that everyone else in the world is wrong (therefore inferior) and you can feel good about yourself for being "perfect".

some of the comments that tamaki made horrified me - eg that a family can only be a family with a mum and dad - i was only brought up by mum and imo i'm balanced

I do not fully agree with them. Some of the things they stand for are good and legitimate but they come off as some sort of a cult.

I do stand for some of the same things etc etc as I have a similar believe/religion. The giving of their 10% is just what they believe in. What I think is that Brian is just in it for the money...pure and simple.

I mean you see him walking around with all these golden chains and watches and crap all the time. Is that where his 10% is going? The 10% of their income is suppose to be going to people who need it. To help and support poorer people but what they are using it for is to run they're government party.

I mean they're Auckland department alone has a $7000 000 budget. I don't think this is just any saved up money it's the 10% that everyone is paying that makes up the money that Brian uses to run his party.

Silent knight is correct.

Any takers for my religion? Chicken church.
We are right, our interpretation of some words written by a few likely lads yonks ago is better than yours, more superior and also much more correct and right(don't you love word redundancy?).
Are you sure you're not wrong?
lotsa people are wrong.

are you wrong?

are you sure?

Chicken Church.
THE way.

(Hope this doesn't offend you Hanre, it's directed at destiny and tamaki not a generic diss of religion)
