Screamer Pipe on a t25.

Postby 1598cc » Thu Sep 02, 2004 4:07 pm

Im wanting to put a screamer pipe on my civic.. its running a t25 turbo, but looking at it, it doesnt look like i can do it as both holes go into the housing and theres nothing i can make a flange up with to serparate it.

Kinda hard to explain, but on some turbos they have 2 holes, but in bewteen these holes is the flange which seperates each hole so its easy to make up a flange and bolt it on. On the t25 the flange would have it go inside to seperate both holes if you know what i mean?

Any advice?

By two holes i guess your meaning the Exhaust wheel where it is in the housing and the internal waste gate?
You will probably have to get a new dump pipe made (the best option) which should sort it all for you

Yeh thats what i mean..of course i need a new one, but am just wondering if its possible. Of course there is 2 holes, but on the t25 if i was to just make one, whereby the exhaust goes out and the internal goes to the atmosphere, the gases would get mixed up and would be pointless as there is nothing that is separating the holes as they sit about 1 inch into the housing and the downpipe touches around the edge... My description aint the best..

u can either get a piece welded into the exhaust housing to seperate the exhaust and wastegate but could ruin the housingby welding to it.
usually making a screamer pipe is done with a t3 turbo not a t25

seen as you gotta get a custom dump pipe made, when they make the bit that bolts to the housing of the turbo, they can make a plate that welds to the dump pipe, not the housing, and it sits inside the housing and separates the exhaust wheel from the wastegate. personally i think screamer pipes are shite, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Now here is a crazy idea.

You could try keeping your car legal. A screamer pipe isn't.

Yeh thats exactly what i was meaning, and was wondering if it would ruin it.

I was thinking that as well, but i doubt it cold seal it properly and would probly leak
