Removing Axles

hey
does anyone know how to remove the axles from the housing on a RWD car without using a slide hammer or axle puller, cause i havent got one,
or is anyone in the welly region able to lend me one so i can remove them, this is kinda urgent, and needs to be within the next week please

piece of cake.
just take off both wheels, then take off both both brake drums.
from there you will see the axle flange, with two holes in it, stick an extension with a 14mm socket through the hole, and undo four bolts behind the axle flange, rotating the flange to find the bolts.

From here, the axle should just pull out, but most times they wana be a rite cuntt. A great trick I use is to put the wheel back on the axle, with one/two wheel nuts on, and give the wheel a kick from behind the wheel/under the car, then it will come rite out.

dont forget to drain the diff oil first!

sweet cheers dude..what do you do about the backplate? just let that hand there ?, iv removed the shoes and those 4 nuts you were talking about..and iv tried pulling really hard, but still no luck :(
will give it ago with a tyre though..

ye bro, ive ben through this MANY a time on k series corollas. kicking the tyre will work, and the backing plate will stay sitting on the axle housing, due to attached brake line, and handbrake cable. The backing plate wont falll off. u Changin the diff head??
