4AG Ignition Module & Manifold

Postby fryguy » Sat Sep 11, 2004 12:14 am

HEY ALL,

I am putting twin weber dcoe 40mm carbs onto my red top 4ag and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good ignition module to use for this- I have checked out bosch modules on the net and they seem okay would they just be a simple plug and play exercise? all I need out of the module is a breaker for the coil, no advance necessary as Im not looking for fuel economy if you catch my drift

ps- if anyone could offer a lead to where I could start looking for a manifold for the carbs that would be great!

CHEERS.
BILL

Cant help with the module but check out Pioneer Autoparts for the manifold, they list a Redline manifold for both big and small port 4AG's
90 SW20 Turbo - Project
90 SW20 N/A - Sold

Pm me or call HiTech Motorsports in Pukekohe on (09)238-8754 for a manifold, should be cheaper than a redline from pioneers & kelfords. Hitech supply Palmisde, Autoquip etc.

Um..
Advance is where the power comes from.
Vacuum advance is for economy but mechanical advance is required to make some power. Only exception i've seen is a race car we were having trouble with where we fixed the timing at 36 deg BTDC all the time.
This is not suitable for a road car and requires the car to be turning over on the starter before you turn on the ignition.

If you set it an the normal 8 BTDC it will be a slug!

Best option is to modify a 4K electroinc dist into it.
This is a common soloution.
