Hi I was just wondering what you guys thought of these..

I was thinking of getting some for my Ae92, do you think I would have any problems with these?

You'll get what you pay for as far as ride quality goes with those. Got some on a mates Teg and they are stiff as, not nice for the road

You have to modify these to fit your existing struts. Which means cutting and welding the adjuster plate thingy to your strut. Alot more work for not much adjustment.

As its already been said, you get what you pay for. For any regular street application you might as well just drop a set of springs in. Otherwise go all out and get an aftermarket full replacement of your strut.

you dont have to modify anything these sit in your original shock no welding or anything required but remember with ajustable shocks you have to get it certed

sorry to say yes you do have to cut and weld.
my mate bought some and there was no way you could put them in so they are safe and fit nice and snug. if u try put them in without changing the platform you wont beable to go any lower than standard height anyway with out it being captive.

Went through this exercise with a ae92, took them back to Jap race, they also tried to fit them but said u cant unless u cut and weld and change platform, so they swapped it for a front mount

we put some in a ae92 fx and my old civic and no welding or cutting was required and you could make it go real real low with them like on its ass sorta thing

I know they fit a honda shocks easy.
but how could u possibly fit it onto a toyota shock.
1st thing, the top plate in the front. The hole is too small and wont even fit over the top of the shock.

2nd the spring needs to sit flat on the platform, toyota platforms are curved.

3rd of all u cant even make it captive on the shock without the adjustment being high if u tried to put them in.

ok you do that.
I took in both front and rear shocks from an ae92 gtz and they said it wont fit after me playing with it for hours!!.

so i would like to see those pics. of it in the toyota.

I had looked into those same adjustables on trademe before I lowered my car. The extra modification, work and money involved just put me off, especially for a street application.

Until we see pics i wont be convinced either. For the adjustment to work the keeper spring part needs to be welded on to the strut and the original toyota seat for the spring needs to be cut off, factory springs have a larger diameter than those adjustables.

If you managed to fit the springs without modification, its probably just plain dangerous!
