I'm running an exedy Extreme clutch in my starlet. Feels like a stock unit but has awesome grabbing power. Handled a whole day of thrashing at Manfeild with no sign of weakness, even on the drive back to Welly straight after my final run.

Well worth the $ in my opinion and a great unit for a road going/ daily driver that gets the occassional trashing on the track or strip. As for price, depends on who you know;) could look into a price for you thru our business.

If interested drop me an email: info@tatsumaki-racing.co.nz

yeah i know of a few people who have had problems with disingaugement

best to get a working kit that tried and true
im using a extreme cover that had to have the edges ground to fit in my c52 and then rebalanced

75% more clamp than stock on a stock organic plate
and im running a 4 puck ceramic/ceramic

its a bit of a on off clutch but its fine for what i wanted
almost 600 for the cover i think
and i think the puck was about the 300 mark

interesting point wasi got the cover rebalanced and to be honest you sould have seen the counter wieght they had to add to get it smooth

so in all honesty i can really recomend them on that point
also the gay purple color was a bit of a turn off
but yeah

auto clutch will reset ya stock pp to almost anthing ya want for 400 bucks
so maybe for you that is the best bet
a heay pp and a stock organic

i know of a few that has worked well for
or even getting ya stock disc relined with kevlar
and a heay duty plate

things to remember you gert what ya pay for
and a good clutch setup can win races
a bad one will have ya box off more time than its in :S

best of luck

8.5" 4age clutches fit in the C52 no worries, in my case, that's what came in mine from the factory ('86 AW11) It's the 9" 4AGZE clutch that doesn't fit.

Hey, Was going to post a new topic but this is already here -

Clutch in my ae92 4agze is bung as - just got a 225mm organic exedy clutch ($280 inc gst) and have a TRD pressure plate to throw in with it - my question is is it worth throwing in this 2nd hand pressure plate (still looks fine) in a road car?? any idea if driveability will be affected at all? I cant see any obvious difference in either pressure plate apart from the TRD stamped into the fingers - will the only difference be in the stiffness of the fingers?

More than likely, it will have increased clamping pressure over your old pressure plate, could be a little, could be a lot, only thing that will really change will be the weight required on the clutch pedal to disengage it, aside from that, it should be just as driveable as before - such are the joy of full face clutch discs.

Here we go, $315 later, got the call and went and picked up my new clutch, here's those pics I promised:

Took us about 2 hours to re-install in the aw11, including re-packing one of our CV's that split during removal...

My initial impressions, as always, Clutch Systems did a excellent job, no rough edges, or badly pressed rivets, and in the car she's much more slip-free than the 99% new organic plate we took out. Included in the price was a new hub so they didn't use my old one.
