auto gear box oil

hey as i have sed in a recent post my syncors are i bit woren and its grinds on 1st 2 nd and 2nd to 3rd and i have herd usain auto gearbox oil wif a gear box adative will help..when i went to shops trying t find wot i need i got vry stangre looks when i sed i was going to do this...so it is ok 2 do this? it wnt fuk ne thing up? also wot sort of atuo oil should i use? i found detron 111? and i could only find X1R manual gear box aditive? is that wot i want??

dextron 3 is the one,
the brand of additive I used was called 'Proma' oil additive used for anything (engine/gearbox), and i think they only make that and nothing else.

In the supra approx 3L capacity'ish I use 2/3's dextron 3 and 1/3 manual box oil. Runs fine.
only been on the road for a few weeks thou also.

so using all auto oil and the proma aditive will b sweet? like wnt damage my gearbox?

It can be a little more noisy and notchy in the gears.
When you look at how much development goes into auto fluid compared to ole gear oil its surprising. I believe some newer manual cars use atf standard (will try and find the article I read)

what the atf does it slows down the syncro faster to get a smoother change.
the gea rbox will wine more than usualy but the additive shoudl stop it from wearing out.
dextron 3 is usually pretty good and dont think u really even need the additive, but I put it in just to be safe.

my old man was the one who told me about this cos alot of people used to do it at pukekohe on their race cars when their gear boxes started to crunch
