I'm not too sure about the kerosene, but if you do, let it dry COMPLETELY first!
My dad had an old diesel with an air filter that could be cleaned with petrol. However, the instructions were that you had to let it dry for something like half a day.
He left gave it a blow with an air compressor and left it in the sun for a bit and thought that was dry enough. Put it back in started it up.
He SWEARS that the thing must have got up to 10,000rpm!! It scared the shit out of him so he ran and just let it run until it slowed down! Needless to say, the engine then progressivly died over a week.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
