HELP :(

at the moment napier is flooded and i can't get to my mechanic!

on saturday night took the mighty fx out for a cruise, when we hit 100km area it couldn't pick up speed, lost all power and sat at high revs. when taking it home three lights came up on dash, battery, engine and a car light.

replaced the battery on saturday, dash lights still there today.

she is also leaking a bit of oil

hmmmm, when my alternator cooked itself, it overcharged to hell, which meant that all the "idiot lights" came on.

Could be the same thing?

Is there the smell of a battery being fried?

Uh oh.... Where abouts is the oil leaking from? Can you tell or have you just been checking the levels and seen that they're going down?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

its never leaked before this weekend...

its leaking on the drivers side and i think its comin from under the engine.
its been leaking since bout friday, enough to make me almost empty! i refilled it on saturday, checked it yeasterday and it was still full.

i had the exhaust replaced bout 6mths ago, just had to take it back there with a hole by the tip. since then its been spitting a bit of black stuff.

yeah i was thinking the alternator but hey i'm no expert.

i just hope its gonna be done in time for the weekend!

might just be me but which ones are the engine and car lights? I'd love it if the cars I work on had those

You say the oil is coming from the drivers side, it most probably is your front crank seal.

There pretty cheap to buy and fit.
