Who has GPS Navigation installed (or had)

and is your plug plugged in or not?

(just an idea)

Another question, does anyone else have their Radio reception totally die when you turn on the rear demister?

Resistance is 13.7 ohms so I would guess it's a rear window demister, probably cheaper to get them all made the same :D

Now for the next piece of GTT obscure equipment. Who knows what this is connected to and what it does

Is that behind ur dash? I can't work out what part of the car we're looking at.
And the mystery plug is shown on a diagram which shows aerials - so I'm still gunnin for aerial.

It's in the right rear of the car.

Resistance isn't right for an aerial, should be a lot higher than 13.7ohms.

I have confirmed that the missing plug is connected to the demister, but for what reason I can't guess, maybe a 2 stage heater?

The pulley goes to a valve on the right-hand exhaust outlet pipe, must be controlled by the ECU, wonder what it's used for, noise or power restriction?

Fivebob I asked that question a while back, I now have mine open all the time it sounds alot better at idle too, Havent noticed a power difference however, Quite a complex setup though just to make it quieter when its already pretty quiet :?

I think its something to do with back pressure when your not boosting???
not sure, I had a exhaust expert dude explain it to me,

apparently it gives you a bit more power down low...

Wicked... I'm gonna use that for a remote boot release solenoid. Saves me $80!

Might not work as a solenoid, it's a 3 wire connector so it's probably a stepper motor,i.e. earth ,power,signal.

Why do you need remote boot release anyway?

To that statement I raise the BS flag so you can all proudly salute it

Sounds to me like your so called expert was just another of those unknown drips under pressure i.e. should be spelled X-Spurt

AFAIK there's no way a turbo motor (or an NA for that motor) performs better with restrictive backpressure. The only good form of backpressure is that generated by reverse pressure waves, which is timed to arrive at the open exhaust port, just before the valve closes, to push any escaping inlet charge back into the cylinder. See http://www.optimum-power.com/popup.htm for a simulation of the pressure map in a 4-Stroke engine

Next time someone feeds you that line, ask them whether they've read, and understood, the following book. If they say yes, ask to see their PhD, and send them my way cause there's some parts of it which are just too confusing for me to comprehend 8O
