Wiring Q, three ess gee tee eeeeeee :)

Postby Chickenman » Mon Nov 15, 2004 11:10 am

So..... The dash feed is the bottom plug in the pic.

What do I "NEED" to supply with power or earth out to firstly, turn the car over and secondly, to actually start it?

Image

There are another two plugs that go to the dash directly from the engine bay loom.... In the end about 50 wires go to the dash but most of them are doubles or triples so it's more like 15-20.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Also, is it a good idea to tow it around really slowly (in 5th or something) before attempting to actually start it? or is there a better way to get some oil up in there?

I just make sure there's a little more oil than needed on the dipstick, and maybe throw a few drops down each plughole.. might wanna disconnect the coil or something, and crank it over a few times to get things lubed up, or if you're worried, just get a 19mm socket on a ratchet, (assuming the crank nut is that size! and spin it round manually a few times.

Cheers guys.

So before I even try to turn it over...
Remove plugs,
put a lil' bit of oil down the holes?
anything else?

Close my eyes and pray to jesus?
