I really don't like my blacktop as it has next to no torque where I use it the most.
How can I get more 2.5-4k rpm torque out of this engine?
I'm open to any ideas as long as it doesn't involve turbo or super charging.
Only mod is a decat.

First off you bought the wrong car for low down torque.
If your going to install a new exhaust don't go above 2' if your looking for bottom end. A new free flowing muffler will help a little. I would recommend leaving the factory exhaust pipe but modify the 2-1-2 pipe which seems horribly restrictive.
Other than getting custom tuned headers designed for your needs and smaller ports I can't really think of anything else. In the 80's there was a huge trend (which toyota was also a part of ) to make the ports as big as possible. People used to weld up the manifold and decrease the size of the port. This could be an option? (This will increase low torque).

you picked the wrong engine for low down torque, just look @ its specs... 81x77, she loves to rev man, its what the 4age is designed for...
and also a 3sge is no quicker than a 4age, ive found that out . then again a 3sgte... but thats a completely different league.
um, buddy, you dont really have much option, to gain torque and power from these engines, you need to take drastic measures, supercharging gives you low down, but youll lose your high end (why a blacktop has the same q mile time as a supercharged one - stock anyway). take your pick
unless you have a huge engine, you cant have both, unless you have two turbos... which still requires a bigger than 1.6L engine!
in short, ur probbaly going to spend alot of cash trying, but will fail.... if you want a lot of low down torque, go buy something with a 1uzfe.... and shell go forever!

to seirously improve torque, just try to improve power, torque shall follow
(power = torque x rpm). so try aim for high power on a cheap budget (like we are all doing), and youll bring up torque too >.> right?
intake, exhaust, get them both done, then you can go onto to play *how bigs ya wallet* the more you pay the more power youll make, cams, ecu all avilable at a price.....
how much you got

Oh you silly youngin's. All you seem to care about is peak power these days.
