Length of supercharger dipstick

Postby Voodoo » Sat Jan 29, 2005 5:38 pm

as mention in another post, i dont have a dipstick on my supercharger, just the yellow wingnut, anyway was going to just empty it and refill it with 130mls , but the sump nut sits to close to one of my engine mounts to get at (rwd conversion) so anyway just wondering if someone could measure the length of there dipstick from the top to the high or low point oil point, as ive read it is 100 mm between them, that way i stick something down there to measure for now

Cheers

hey,

the total length of the dipstick, from the base of the washer/seal on the wing nut, to the end of the dip stick, is 123mm,

from the base of the washer to the high mark is 69mm

from the base of the wingnut to the low mark is 113mm.

hope this helps

Have a damn good look down the little hole to make sure that the rest of the dipstick hasn't broken off and fallen in!!!

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

yes could come in to direct contact with the gears. if it was gto be caught up, it would be very messy, new s/c time infact

you can safely remove the rear cover of the blower, no special tools required apart from a normal 12mm socket or spanner
that way you can be sure
pull the cover off, there is an oring that seals it, and the gears will be visable,
