scraping?

Postby driftah » Tue Feb 01, 2005 8:12 pm

Just had my corolla fxgt lowered and it scrapes a bit. I looked at the tyers where its scraping the gaurd and it got some marks around the edge but nothing major. Is this a big worry?

If you have just had it lowered it could be a problem.
the first few weeks after it is lowered they tend to settle and go down a wee bit more.

So it could start to be a bit of an issue if it starts to cut the tires up.

Ifs its only on the lip of the guard, you can try taking the inner plastic guard out and see if that makes a difference.
If not, you'll need to flatten the inner lip inside the guard, which you can do with a hammer if you're careful

Or you could take it to Mag and Turbo etc.... and they could do it. Properly and smoothly

And pay through the nose for them to do it with a hammer? No way!

Nah, there are more subtle ways of doing it, a baseball bat works fairly well...no, not for bashing it in, using it the curve of the wheel and the round surface of the bat to push the lip upwards, it works.

Have a couple of fat $&#$% sit in the car too with the baseball bat trick, it works a treat.

A sock full of sand and a plank of wood can do it pretty smoothly.
