1UZ into an *A70 chassis...?

Postby Silent Knight » Wed Feb 02, 2005 5:57 pm

Hey all,

I am planning as a next project to pop a 1UZ into an *A70 chassis. What I am trying to find out is if anyone here has had much experience with 1UZs or have tried doing the conversion before........

I need to know how much if any sort of modification will have to be done to the engine bay to make it fit?

Now from what I know the motor is not very big and is mostly just a square about 800x800x800 plus or minus. What I plan on doing is to remove EFI and just put a big carby on it to minimise wiring and things to go wrong.

I haven't done this before so if anyone has any suggestions as to the easiest way to just convert it to a carby that would appreciated

Also the mounts in the engine bay......now from what I know in the z30 soarers the mounts in the bay are the same for the 1JZ and the 1UZ. Would this be the same aswell for an *A70 or would I be asking for to much?

Changing the mounts in the engine won't be a problem really but I just need to know if there is an off chance of it fitting in.....

Last thing is the sump on the 1UZ....it has 3 kinds of sumps rear, mid, front. Wich one would I need to use to fit the motor into a MK3?

Cheers

Hanré

Probably your best place to start, but search thoroughly before you ask. For carby setup look towards the stockcar guys.

It's different, and it's cool but is it really worth the effort unless your planning to turbo it as well?

Haven't decided wether I will turbo it or put a blower on it......either way I am going to do the conversion sooner or later

I am probably more keen on the idea of a blower though but will have to wait and see...
