Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Fri Feb 11, 2005 9:02 pm

probably the dumbest question yet  - but found this in the box of stuff i was given with my 4age engine. i don't know exactly what it is though and neither does anyone else ive asked. is it a fuel pump - and if so, will it do to run my 4age? (bluetop)

Nope - I'd say a vacuum service valve - possibly to actuate TVIS or something similar.

I think you have to worry when without even trying you can identify solenoids off your car without even thinking about it :S

I always wondered what my one was on the top right side of the firewall (when looking from front of car). Now that I know I should remove it, does anyone know if there is anything special to removing it or do you just bypass it with the vacuum hose and unplug it?

If you still have aircon you shouldnt remove this, its important for running as it increases rpm so the engine doesnt stall when load is apllied due to the aircon pump running
