How much oil do you need?

Hey just giving my 20v an oil change. How much oil will I need? Is 4L enough?

the castrol nz site has oil requirments for most engines www.castrol.co.nz i think its 3.2L but i could be wrong on this so please dont quote me

If its a Black top 20V then it takes 3L I dont know about the silver top but I would say it would take the same amount.

yup, plus a little bit for the oil filter if you do it. I did my silvertop tonight, with a filter, i got about 500mls left from my 4l of magnatec.

The 3L included the filter being changed as well, 2.8L if you dont change your oil filter.

im damn sure i havnt got a litre left in my bottle, and its about 2-3mm under the F mark on my dipstick. And i spilt none. *shrugs*

its 3.5 when you do a filter
and a good 4l if you take the sump off

i always thort it was double the cc rating of the car therefore a levin is 1600cc x 2 = 3.2 L

or am i beyond repair?

So a 5.7l senater takes 11.4l of oil

I think that is just works out in this case, i don't think that is a rule.

4age takes 3.2-3.5 depending on how long u leave it to drain....

in fact all 4a# engines take the same amount...

but yes 4l is enough, and you will have enough for a coupla top ups
