The amount of oil that was drained from the sump was about 4.5 liters ( which on its own is fine) ... however on top of that the guy rekens that theres atleast another liter in the engine all through the intercooler, air intake , in take manifolds the whole lot.... and if this wasnt enough he told me that when he unbolted the turbo about 2 liters of oil poored out of the exhaust.

youd put it into drive, the output side of the torque converter would spin, without fluid to drive the input to the bands, there wouldnt be any movement.
just revving... and maybe some odd sounds...
dont go subie, unless your going sti .

actually it does, but it kills itself fairly quickly

Sorry mate, but coz is right. An auto box cannot operate without fluid. LOL reminds me of my mate who's dad did an oil change for him. Finished doing it and wondered why his car wouldn't go into drive...He had drained the gbox fluid and doubled up the oil. Thankfully didn't cause any problems.
Dr-X wrote:Being that you've done 'work experience', I'm going to assume you have some mechanical know how. I would have thought you'd have some idea of how an auto box works, but obviously not.
An auto box simply will not function without fluid.
