If you want good boost control you will need to go to V5, I helped with the development of it with Link.
Basically it works perfect,
In Simple Mode, it runs just like a bleed valve, it supplys a duty cycle that is constant eg. 45% may give 15psi. Its that simple, although just like a bleed valve the higher you go in the revs boost will drop a little.
In Advanced Mode, it takes a little more to setup though still very simple, you set a target say 15psi (205kpa), then you set a start duty cycle which may give you 13-14, then you set sensitivity which is how fast the link controls itself trying to keep the boost at the boost target. It works perfect keeping the boost at whatever you set the target at untill the limiter.
Also the new V5 has an adjustable boost knob function, that if you have it turned all the way on it will go to the boost target you have set, and then it is totally variable in between right down to wastgate pressure.
You can upgrade your V3 to V5 which will ahve the new boost control plus 8 rows of mapping over 6 on V3, but you wont be able to use the boost knob as the new V5 has another plug that is required for that.
If you getting your car tunned you should upgrade before you get it done.
If you want it upgraded let me know and ill check on a price for you.
