both fit pretty snug into a ma/ga70 supra, so they cant be too different.
If noone here knows for sure ask on the supra forum as a few of the guys there have done conversions with these engines I think.
Cant believe im still a member here.

plus the auto one will be a hell of alot easier to find and will be significantly cheaper.

what car is this going into?

I would go 1jz over the 1ggte since you will be getting custom mounts done( i presume)

Otherwise if the 1ggte bolts straight on, it would be hard to go passed the under rated potential that has to offer.

yep custom mounts on a semi custom chassis, just gotta make sure the engine will fit inside the shell of the car,
im estimating around $1500 - $2000 for a complete engine ?

well yeah you should be able to pick up a complete 1jz for $1-1.5k
might need to pay for the auto ontop of that.

allow abit for doing the main seals, cam seals etc timing belt etc.

what i did when i put the low milage 7mgte into my car was

head set (didnt rebuild the head, but used most gaskets and seals)
conversion set (used main seals and gaskets)
oil and oil filter
air filter
arp head studs (not necessary in your case, but an option you might take)
thermostat
new hoses, coolant and oil
new vacuum lines

it all adds up, but do it once and do it right.

So allow abit of money ontop of the engine cost.

Im sure you know already, but just a friendly reminder.

good luck wiht the project, and remember pics or it didnt happen

i suspect the difference between manual and auto will be the water pump or a different water pipe arrangement on the rear of the head....

keep that in mind if you fins a good manual one
