toms extractors for SW20 - Made for NA?

Postby RomanV » Thu Mar 24, 2005 10:44 am

Hi there. I have some TOMS extractors. They came off an NA motor, however...... they look pretty grunty.
I am wondering if perhaps they were intended for the 3sgte instead?
Since you dont get as much air/fuel flowing through the NA motor, would these extractors be less than optimal, if that were the case?

Or I suppose it means the extractors will not become efficient until higher revs, when gas flow is increased.

Correct?

Comments?

Cheers.

Turbo extractors, see how they all run into a flange, that flang runs to the turbocharger.

Non turbo extractors, see how they all run into one pipe. that pipe will then run to the exhaust.

in short, does it have that flange, and generally, n/a extractors are much longer / larger than turbo ones.

Well I have never owned or worked on a turbo charged car, so I didnt really think about it. :)

Although I did think that the turbo was further down the exhaust than that.
