blacktop head on silvertop block
does a blacktop head bolt straight on to a silver top block,is the raised compression in the black top head, looking for more go,also took the rocker cover off my silver top and it is full off burnt oil that is caked on in some places 6mm thick it is a real mess and the head needs to come off to be cleaned so why not put a black head on it instead,it runs a link computer, will the plugs off the silvertop be the same.

Yes the Blacktop head will bolt straight up.
I haven’t cc'ed the standard combustion chambers so I don’t know where the compression increase is. However there was suggestion that both heads cc the same (I don’t know if this is true). The pistons are a much better casting on the blacktop. They have smaller recesses which means better flame propagation, so I would be using the blacktop pistons as well. They aren’t that expensive to buy second hand.
Also ensure you get the entire intake as modifying your silvertop intake to suit would be futile. The inlet cam on the blacktop is slightly longer in duration as well. Again its a good to have.
The plugs off your silvertop? I gather your talking about your injector, VVT and TPS plugs? They are all identical.
So what do you end up with? A blacktop with stronger rods!
