Whilst Lowenbrau and Hoegaarden are both very good, I believe both pale in comparison to Becks.



Corona is also very good.

However, I voted "cocktails" in the above, because as much as I love beer, I have a sweet tooth; and there is simply nothing like a few well made cocktails to get you happy drunk (or happpy plastered). Midori Illusions are one of my faves.

I hate spirits, every single one, about the most i like is 2 capfuls of good rum in an R&C... Wine i drink, but only to be social, i'd never go buy a bottle of wine to sit down and enjoy myself.

I'm a beer fan, i drink all the crazy expensive beers that most people cant pronounce, like Lowenbrau, Zipfer, Grolsch, etc... Of all of them, Lowenbrau is god. I worship at the altar of Lowenbrau...

For the record, NZ beers are universally crap, exept for a few nice brews from the Mac's and Monteith's breweries... Mac's Special Reserve is a really, really nice drop. I cant understand why people drink the horrid, icky, waxy crap that is Tui, CD, Speights and whatever other brews the respective marketing departments decide to call 'beer'

Ever been to the Lowenbrau bar in Sydney??? If not you a definatley missing out. Big 1.2 ltr (approx) mugs for $16.50!!!!! Not ofr the faint of heart - that was a night of drinking expensive foreign beers. Good night too from what i remember...

I'm not entirely sure WHY i left Becks off that list, i drink it more than the other 3 i listed

However, i'd have to say Lowenbrau is still my favourite drinking beer. Becks has a lovely, clean taste to it that pretty much suits anything, but it doesnt have a lot of character... i drink lots of Becks coz its a very very good beer to have with food But just for sitting down and enjoying a glass, Lowenbrau > Becks IMO

Cocktails / liqueurs and wine are a little girly in my opinion. too sweet for my taste aswell. Leffe beer / Stella and Corona, mmm.

oh and...Hoegaarden is the most horrible substance labeled alcohol ive ever tasted ( no offence to the people who like it ) even if your into forbidden fruit it still has a very off centre taste... but at 9% whos complaining

Over time, I've come to realise that beer actually tastes like sh*t, and makes you feel bloated as well.
And people who say that they actually 'enjoy' beer are just saying it because it's considered the manly thing to drink

Aaah...the green fairy.. that stuff is the ultimate 'get pissed quick' drink..
Just don't be an idiot like 2 of my mates have been and drink half a bottle.. one spent 4 hours in a garden, the other 4 hours over a toilet.. and on both accounts i literally had to carry them home, and i was damn sure if they passed out and i couldn't wake em..i'd be calling an ambulance...
