Rev Counter / Display

Postby beeker » Sun May 29, 2005 4:39 pm

I have my AE85/6 race car and are looking for a way of easily knowing when to change gears without looking down. As I have a 4agze I don't always instinctively know where the rev's are, as the power spread is so even (to a point). In addition, the small Toyota Sport steering wheel obscures the factory rev counter.

Ideally I would have a replacement Rev Counter and or with LED's going green, then orange, and then red, but from a 5 minute look on the internet these all look mega expensive !! At the moment the nearest I could think of might be a Autometer Tac dial + Flash.

Anyone think of anything better, or have links to suitable products? Something which ideally presents the rev's as LED's across a horizontal bar ?

Any and all feedback appreciated.

If you want to spend big bucks.... I think DEFI do a HUD thing that beams parameters up onto the lower part of the windscreen

OT - anyone else noticed problems with google lately? I would post up a link to the appropriate page on the Defi site but can't find it, and google won't work...

we have one of the older hud units of defi's in dads supra, and one for mine as well. also does quarter mile times, trip, speed, revs, shift lights, etc. comes in handy as dads supra has a digital dash, which stops at 180, this unit displays past that, so you know what your doing.
