4A-GE Engine drop replacement of 4A-FE?

Postby Shinda » Fri Jun 10, 2005 10:12 pm

I just got a 1996 AE111 Levin XZ the one with the FE engine in it. I was wondering weither to run the 20v head and new engine management system, or if maybe all the engine mount points are the same and drop the whole engine in. weither it's can be a straight swap.

The answer unfortunatly for me also is no the head does not fit. Just get a wrecked bz-g box, loom engine and ecu

You could also go silvertop as they are thye same mounts too,
and will be a lot cheaper,

$4500 my conversion cost doing everything myself except the wiring. I Didnt need a cert cos i used the brakes from the blacktop donor. Motor and 6 sp are all noted on the wof sheet. 2 grand will at best cover hardware and nothing else. I could have put a silvertop in my Ae101 but I have a hatred towards air flow meters and once you go black, you will never look back
