Are Toyota ECU's chippable?
I just saw a tardme auction for an MR2 saying it was chipped, then a guy said they wern't chippable, so yeah..

From what I've read, no, Toyota factory ECU's are not chippable :)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

it is possable to solder in a eprom and cpu that will change the factory settings... but they are expensive and only really ex japan... not like hondas were they just drop another rom in.

toyota ECUs are all hardwired... you cant just swap a chip over. you would have to redo the whole ecu.. which isnt chipping, its replacing!

so no, you cant "chip" a toyota ecu

Its probably just a box that modifys the signal the ecu gets...

Speed/Fuel/Boost cut defender... Theres heaps of them.

To a noob its been 'chipped' which add 20HP to the ass dyno.

maybe the old ecu threw a hissy and has just be replaced with another factory item :?

haha, we were parked up next to that one at maccas...

ours looks better 8)

it will have a stock ecu no-doubt, ive never seen it out with the boyracers, its more just a *car* thats used daily.

just remove the wing :D

I seen it just before when I was walking to the gym, It appears to have the "Uncle Bens" rice treatment with the wing there. Rims are ugly as.

Cheap mr2 none-the-less!!
