What exactly has given up? Email Mr Revhead, he can get you brand new genuine parts for very good prices. Dont bother reconditioning anything, it doesnt last as many members inc myself have found out.

Yeah, take your car to Shock Absorber Services in Takapuna, or Manukau. They will be able to rebuild your s/struts for you.

Out of curiosity, how much does a new superstrut, or whatever it is that fails, cost to replace? (Retail, what I'd pay at a local garage type thing!)

Each? So, are there 4 superstruts on an AE101, or is it just a front or rear thing?

For those who want to know. I had my superstrut replaced today. Had three quotes all around $500. I paid $551 for both sides in the end, drove in this morning, they did the job and car was ready this afternoon. WOW what a difference! if i had known how bad it was i would have done it ages ago.
Thanks
