Postby GGnz » Wed Jun 15, 2005 2:55 pm

Had court today and got off with just a $200 fine for my careless driving. So Im on the market for a new car again Not sure what to go for. Something along these lines but not limited to this.

Toyota FXGT corolla 1990
Toyota FX-GT 1992
Toyota Levin BZ-G 1997
Toyota Trueno GT Apex 1992

Must be manual and an preferbly no more then $6000, $7000 max.

Post your opinions on what I should get and if you know of any for sale.

Couple of my mate's have Black Top 20v Carib's in Dunner's..
Carib's are kool but are becoming extremely popular now.. I would go for a Corolla (92-95) Hatch they pretty kool and haven't seen one done up in town..

Ok, had an even better idea. Since its obvious you want a 4AGE something how bout
a Marino? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 810082.htm
A Carina? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 264576.htm

Those two are a bit outta your price range but there are some at turners that go for half that!

Indeed, These two would make a welcome change from the common levin/trueno range.

Maybe worth looking into??

On topic then...why are you only looking at Toyotas?

If I was spending $6000-$7000 on a manual newer car (non-turbo?), then I would be looking along the lines of an S13/14, Nissans are plenty reliable, and RWD is just so much better... 8)

its your car, your choice at the end of the day, all we are gonna suggest is different cars which will make your decision even harder.

Find a car YOU want, i wouldnt go buy a AE101 just cos everyone said go get one, as NZCelica said, be different, im sure you would rather stand out than be boring now wouldnt you 8)
I had vtax :(

get the 1990 FX-Gt. I used to have a 89 FX-GTv and they whip the ass off 20v's. the 20v FX-GT/Levin/Trueno aint what there made out to be

Fuel economy? Bah!

Don't limit yourself to Toyotas... like has been said before, grab yourself a tidy S13/14, (n/a if you must...) will be plenty fun.

CA18 or SR20, your choice, SR powered ones are a little dearer, turbo motor does well enough, I wouldn't bother with an N/A CA tho.

Or a skyline, but a little less chuckable.
