Going from his post above about being done for Careless Driving and the fact that he stacked a 4wd Celica (Not taking the piss dude just stating the Fact's) I think he would be better off with a Fwd FX - GT or something..
At the end of the day it's what you want dude so once your made your mind up go get what ever..

Don't limit yourself to Toyotas... like has been said before, grab yourself a tidy S13/14, (n/a if you must...) will be plenty fun.

CA18 or SR20, your choice, SR powered ones are a little dearer, turbo motor does well enough, I wouldn't bother with an N/A CA tho.

Or a skyline, but a little less chuckable.

yea but the reason he crashed was cos he lost the back end, mabey start off in something like a little fxgt, master a fwd, then move to rear.

I always classed them as AWD (always using all four wheels) and always classed Skylines a 4WD (using all four wheels only when the rear wheels lose traction).

only the gt4 celica's are AWD/4WD, mine definately aint

i would class the gt4's 4wd setup as being the same as a legacy, wrx, evo, what ever, the 4wd skylines (gts4,gtr) are slightly more rear based than the others. But ALL are still Four Wheel Drive

My Gsr is classed a 4wd I dont think there is a difference between 4wd and Awd is there just a modern name Unless Awd distribute torque differently between all four wheels

ALL WHEEL DRIVE:

Definition: A vehicle where all four wheels are driven, but there's no transfer case like a four-wheel drive rig. Most AWD setups are full time systems for year-round driving, and use a viscous fluid coupling center differential instead of a transfer case to route drive torque to all four wheels. This allows the front and rear wheels to turn at slightly different speeds when turning on dry pavement. Most folks do not consider this the same as four-wheel drive. It can be useful (and more fuel economical) in pavement driving where you're mainly negotiating bad weather conditions.



FOUR WHEEL DRIVE


Definition: A method of driving a vehicle by applying engine torque to all four wheels thru the use of a transfer case, differentials and hubs. Various schemes are used for 4WD including part-time, full-time and variable four-wheel drive. To help cut the drive train drag (and reduced fuel economy) that most 4WD's have, a transfer case is included that allows the driver to select either two- or four-wheel drive depending on driving conditions. Some performance cars have full-time variable four-wheel drive and use a computer-controlled transfer case to route power between the wheels.



It's important to note that even in 4WD, you still have only two driving wheels; one front; one rear. A normal passenger car is essentially one wheel drive, because the other one can slip. So a 4WD rig, with the front axle engaged, now has two wheels driving. Then if you add a locker to the rear, you've added one more wheel, to make your rig three-wheel drive. Add a locker to the front, so no tires can spin, and you have TRUE, 4-wheel drive, all four wheels driving.

yeah that sounds right about the difference between the AWD & 4wd, but since most 4wd's seem to have lsd's of some sort or active transfer cases & all that new fancy help the bad drivers out type thing, i guess for all intents & puposeses, theres no real difference.

AWD/4WD evo's and wrx's and gtx'and gt4's dont have the powere evenly spread between front and rear. They all have a certain percentage of power going the the rear and the rest to the front.

Its called greasy roads... It even said this in the police report and I've told you this how many times now. If the road was completely dry like you keep suggesting I would of been sweet. Anyways who cares? I think every1 else is over it...
