10" Sub into an MR2

Postby EssDub » Sun Jul 03, 2005 9:11 pm

Hiya all :)

Anyone got any interesting ways to get a 10" sub and accompanying amp into my SW20 MR2? Its sitting on my room floor at the moment, wanting a good beat through it again :(
Anyone got details on building a custom box/panel to hold it? any info would be appreciated, cheers! :D

Use a TS-SW124D flat piston subwoofer from pioneer.. can be obtained from Parallel Imported.. saves heaps of room..

well - there have been other threads asking how to get bass into MR2's.. and i remembered that the flat piston woofer is more commonly available to people nowadays.. PI is not my choice of place to buy stuff (though i have bought there) but if it suits the application for the right price then go for it.. i like my real NZ warrenties though ;)

do you still have the specs of the sub, a 1 cubic foot box is easy to make and fit, and you could easily go a bit bigger behind the seat if you wanted.
The space behind the drivers seat could be used to house the amp, or you could make an enclosure on one side of the boot. You could also use the bit of space in the frunk to mount the amp.
Have a read through http://stephenmason.com/cars/mr2audio.html for some ideas, and some useful suggestions.
